Grateful, Thankful, Blessed.

Thanksgiving is time for reflection…a counting of blessings…prayer and looking within…and communicating heartfelt feelings.  In that spirit, I want to share my thoughts with you- my friends, partners, and clients.

In a year of health concerns for all of us (personally, my husband, two daughters and I all had and got through COVID as well as my aunt sadly being diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer), I truly understand that I need to strengthen my already strong commitment to health and wellness.

This is nothing new to me.  I lost my brother Thomas at 50, both of Joe’s parents died in their 50s, and last year when we lost our precious Gianna at 6 years old.  But, this year it’s different.  The fragility of everything has pushed me to intensify everything.  A motto of mins has always been is “how you do one thing is how you do everything”.  I attack my Peleton bike and treadmill with more intensity, for sure.  Additionally, I have worked even harder than I did in previous year, as more clients need me, and I am focused on accumulating for a rainy day (or retirement some day).

Mostly though, I push myself to insulate my loved ones.  A healthy me (physically, financially, and emotionally) has enabled me to provide and care for my loved ones.  It makes me feel good to do good, for everyone I can.  I am blessed with a career that makes it possible.

Being busy has forced me to live a life by design.  One in which I can work (and play) with only the people who are in the boat with me- rowing with all their hearts.   The fact that I work so closely with my family has made the work/life balance easier to maintain.  I am blessed with a loving husband, two spectacular daughters, and a mom who is still her own version of the Energizer bunny at 86.  This year, my brother’s family came back from Florida to live here, along with my grand-niece- a little ray of sunshine for us all.

This season, I urge you to appreciate the love that surrounds you, thank God for all your blessings.  Even when you feel down, know your glass is more than half full, and the future is brighter than the present.  You are stronger than your circumstances.  And that for whatever small piece of your life I have impacted, know that I am grateful for you, and the impact you have made on me.  I realize my legacy will be every small touch on the many lives of people who trusted me to help them along the way.

Happy Thanksgiving!

-Lisa
